Welcome to Hedgehog Class
The children in Hedgehog class loved learning about the North and South Pole for their topic last term. In English and Computing they read and retold the story Lost and Found and created an illustrated eBook using the iPads.
In Maths the children used clocks to read the time to the hour and half past the hour and explored halving shapes and numbers. They were also introduced to the concept of place value, noting the ‘tens’ and ‘ones’ in two digit numbers, which we will continue to practise throughout the Spring Term.
In Science the children explored how the weather changes across the seasons. They used simple tools to record the weather over a week and then wrote a weather report.
Everyone enjoyed the Christmas celebrations at the end of the Term; the children took part in an Advent Service at St Luke’s Church, explored printmaking techniques in Art to create a Christmas card for their family and got messy at decoration afternoon!
The topic for the Spring term is ‘British Inventors and Designers’ and we look forward to sharing our learning with you.
