Welcome to Kingfisher Class
The children in Kingfisher class have had a very busy Spring Term!
In English the children enjoyed reading and re-telling a range of traditional tales. They even wrote their own version of The Elves and the Shoemaker, by changing the key characters and events.
In Science the children learned about everyday materials and their properties, and experimented with waterproof materials to choose what would make a suitable roof for the Three Little Pigs! They then designed and made a cardboard house in Design and Technology and added their chosen material for the roof.
In Maths the children were introduced to fractions of shapes and numbers, focussing on halves and quarters. They also explored how to represent multiplication as groups and arrays.
The children loved getting ready for the Spring Exhibition. They read, performed and wrote their own spring poems in English and experimented with colour mixing to produce beautiful observational paintings of flowers in Art and Design. We hoped you enjoyed seeing their wonderful work on display.
The topic for the Summer term is ‘Under the Sea’ and we look forward to sharing our learning with you.
