Dear Parents and Carers
The children are now all settled and used to the routines and expectations in Nursery. There has been lots of learning going on this term; in library sessions, maths sessions, Forest School, PE and group times.
In the first half of the Spring Term the children enjoyed learning about food. We heard lots of stories about food, including 'Handa's Surprise', 'Oliver's Vegetables' and 'The Little Red Hen'. The children planted beans and watched them grow, made bread, walked to the greengrocers to buy some fruit and weeded the allotments ready for planting in the spring.
In the second half of the Spring Term our topic is 'Animals' and we have already enjoyed hearing the story of 'Noah's Ark' and learning about Chinese New Year.
In Funky Fingers at the beginning of each session the children practise their fine motor skills to prepare them for writing. Activities include cutting, playdough, using Lego, threading and writing. Please make sure you arrive on time as several children miss out on this practise because they are late.
If you are interested in helping us in Nursery with cooking on a Friday, please go to the office to organise a DBS check, get two references and then see us to sign up on the rota.
Magical Moments sheets are available in the cloakroom, so if your child does something special that you are proud of at home, please use these to tell us about it.
Thank you for your continued support.

Tidy Up Song
Some parents have asked about the song we use for tidy up time. It can be found on You Tube by searching for 'Dave Moran Tidy Up Song'.
