Autumn Term 1- To Infinity and Beyond
This term we focus on History through studying events beyond living memory. We will be learning about the first moon landing and the life of Neil Armstrong. In Geography we will be using aerial photographs to locate the Earth and the United Kingdom, before discussing the United Kingdom in greater detail including where Earth sits in space. In Art, we will be learning about Alberto Giacometti and creating a sculpture of Neil Armstrong’s first moon landing. In addition, we will be using Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night as inspiration to create a backdrop for our sculpture by painting. In Computing we will be studying algorithms in order to design our own game to manoeuvre an astronaut around planets in space. In Design and Technology, we will be designing, making and evaluating our own moon buggy. In Science, we will be studying Animals including humans and will explore what is essential to survival and how we keep ourselves fit and healthy.
