What is the School Council?
The aim of the School Council is to develop an awareness of citizenship and to ensure that our main stakeholders: the children, have a voice and can be heard within our school community.
The School Council is an ideal opportunity for pupils to get more involved in the way the school is run. The School Council benefits the whole school, pupils and teachers because it provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made.
Who can be a School Council member, and what do they do?
Our ‘School Council’ consists of twelve children: x2 children (a boy and a girl) from each KS1 class. Each member has to be elected by their class and attend regular meetings to discuss relevant matters of interest concerning school organisation and contribute to the continuous development of Cassiobury Infant & Nursery School. This year's members will also have a special focus on setting up Eco-Schools which will raise environmental awareness and improve the school environment.
